Casimir-Anton (0039)

Dog Portrait — Casimir-Anton

Casimir-Anton was one of the two males who quickly became attracted to people. He was curious and investigated his home. So it was clear that he was one of the first puppies, along with Cuno, to come and make himself comfortable on Anton’s bed. But it was also clear that e really put himself in scene so that I could take a nice portrait of the young Broholm male.

Cuno & Anton (1767)

Cuno and the gentle giant

Anton, the gentle giant and something of a stepfather to the C‑litter, had made himself comfortable on his chaise longue in the winter garden. The fearless little Cuno had climbed up to Anton and was looking for his closeness. But at first it looked as if Anton didn’t really know how to handle the puppy. He looked up uncertainly at his master and mistress. But he let Cuno have his way, lay down so that Cuno could even rest his head on him: read more or write a comment …

Casimir, the ballplayer (0967)

The Ballplayer

Casimir-Anton had discovered the ball. I thought he looked almost like a handball player, the way his big front paw rested on the ball and he looked at me as if he was sizing me up.

But then he lay down behind the ball and gnawed on it a bit. But the ball kept rolling away and Casimir crawled behind it with difficulty. Sometimes it even seemed as if he was nudging the ball away. In the end, he looked like a little 4‑week-old Broholm puppy again.

Dog Portrait — Cäthe

Cäthe was the smallest and for a long time also the weakest puppy in the litter of the 7 Broholm puppies. But she had quickly developed into a self-confident bitch and was later in every scuffle as quite equal to experience.

Here I had »caught« her at the shadow edge of the house wall and could make a very expressive portrait, which does Cäthe very much fair.

First Fights

With the beginning of the fourth week, the fights between the Broholm puppies also became more obvious. With their sharp little teeth, they were actually always biting one of the siblings. Like here Carl-Gustav (brown) and Carlson-Bosse (blue) wrestling with each other. At the beginning Carlson is lying down and Carl keeps biting gently. Growling can be heard, also a new quality in the life of the young dogs. But Carlson manages to fight his way up and he looks visibly annoyed that Carl won’t leave him alone. read more or write a comment …

Casimir-Anton and the sleeping Carl-Gustav (0311)

Carl-Gustav is rudely woken up

Just the elegant parade officer, now the rowdy. Casimir-Anton was obviously already awake and off the mattress, but found nothing interesting. But luckily Carl-Gustav was lying so nice and close to the edge of the mattress. »Let’s see if I can get him awake« thought Casimir and gently bit his brother’s muzzle. Carl was awake, but he obviously didn’t want to romp: read more or write a comment …
