It is wonderful to walk along the shore of Reinefjord and see different perspectives of the view of the two mountains Olstinden and Festhelltinden. All this in the early hours of the morning before the sunrise in January gives the motives a beautiful light. I started my photo hike on the small island Sakrisøya. There is a very decorative stockfish rack with a roof and lighting, which for me is something like a billboard for stockfish. In the immediate proximity there is also the fish restaurant Anita’s Sjømat that does not only sell fish dishes but also stockfish and other specialities. Beside it there is one of the typical rorbuer in Sakrisøya — here, they are all painted yellow and not in red as it is the case in Å. Both go together in my picture, the warm light of the lamps that illuminate the stockfish rack and the warm colour of the house, which is also illuminated from outside. In between is the mountain Olstinden in the background — an icon of the Reinefjord.

I had then simply hiked towards Hamnøya. On the following picture you can see Sakrisøya in the background and behind it the mountain massif with Reinebringen. The bridge swings elegantly from Sakrisøya over to Andøya. One can clearly see the street lamps. Slowly it began to dawn.

Next to it is a red Rorbuer, next to which a boat has been pulled onto the dry land. Again the view is directed to Olstinden in the background. The boat lies there for me as ordered for an interesting composition.

A little further on I suddenly see that the setting moon can be seen next to Reinebringen. In front of the mountain the small island Sakrisøya still lies in the dark. One can already see the band of clouds coming up, which will later deny me the sunrays on the mountain tops. But I think this view is beautiful, as at the left side of the picture, one can already see the dawn.

Finally I saw a fishing boat returning from its night fishing trip in the Reinefjord. Right next to Sakrisøya there is a fish processing plant that was started there. Later on I saw a forklift truck with a box full of cod going over to the stockfish rack on Sakrisøya. A man stood on top of the box and hung the fish under the roof of the »stockfish billboard«, which can still be seen empty on the left of the picture.

    Danke Ameli,
