Bielefeld — Marien Church

Last week I was on a business trip to Bielefeld. Luckely I had to stay over night, so I had the chance to visit the castle Sparrenburg near the center of Bielefeld. I went there in the evening during dawn. It’s always interesting to have a view form the castle down into the town and I love the view to the Marien Church with its slim twintowers.

It’s fantastic during blue hour when the chruch is illuminated in golden light with it’s color-contrast to the blue sky.

Schwanenwik Bridge

What a fantastic evening this saturday, the first saturday in spring!

It was the first warm and sunny weekend with some cirrostatus clouds so I hoped the sunset will be a nice play of colors. So I drove to a spot, I had long on my wishlist for an image. The bridge is at the eastern lakeside of the Alster with a view across the bridge Schwanenwik and the Alster Lake to the television tower in the background.

I wasn’t allone at this spot, two other photographers where already there with their tripots. So it went a happy evening as we waited for the sunset. I got a lot of images in different lights, different colors in the sky and later the streelights from the brigde. This is my favorite picture.

The BRAHMS KONTOR office building in Hamburg is located opposite the Laeiszhalle at Johannes-Brahms-Platz. It was build 1904 by the architects Werner Lundt and Georg Kallmorgen. Between 1920–1922 and 1928–1931 the original building was built up and expanded. The duo Ferdinand Sckopp and Willhelm Vortmann  erected a steel construction based on American skyscrapers: the first modern skyscraper of Hamburg.
2005–2008 it was modernized, but the fine details of the orignal building has been preserved.

Chamber of Commerce of Hamburg

One weekend, together with Silke Tüxen, I had the opportunity to photograph in the halls of the Chamber of Commerce of Hamburg. For over two hours we were here in this classic building.

In former years the trade of the Hamburg Stock Exchange was held in the halls. Today the rooms are usually used for events. Something special are the colored ceilings in the rooms, combined with the all-round upper lights, which allow plenty of natural light to shine into each room.
