The most complex rigging work and at the same time the heaviest and most strenuous is splicing the steel cable. This work is also necessary for the rigging of PEKING. A team of 3 riggers worked together on the eye splice.
It was great to see how with a lot of power the Marlespike was sometimes driven with a hammer between the strands.
Afterwards the strands were spliced in, which was also hard work with the strength of the steel strands.
