We put this bee-friendly plant on our terrace as a tub plant. From the beginning, it was besieged with wild bees for many weeks, flying from flower to flower. I had many opportunities to photograph the bees as they dove under the large petal. But it was also fortunate that I got one time to photograph it with its eye in focus, most of the time it had quickly dived into the calyx.

It was nice when the bee came out of the flower cup again. It looked like she was lifting the upper petal up like a weight lifter to get her wings free again for takeoff. Or how would you interpret the following picture? read more or write a comment …

At the end of summer — at least feels, where the temperatures here suddenly settle again around 20° celcius — I still come with a summer picture. The lilac blossom in our garden in beautiful and warm evening light.

In the background is a large jasmine bush through whose dense foliage falls only a little light. But just there that it forms a beautiful arc of light around the lilac blossom.

For years we have spherical thistles in our garden and every time I enjoy the beautiful geometry of the flower and always try myself with macro shots.

This time I was lucky that in one of my series of shots this wild bee landed in my focus area and I was able to capture it. This shot shows the globe thistle in its typical form, as a food source for the bees. At the main flowering time there is rarely only one bee on each of the flowers, often there are two or even three bees. read more or write a comment …

The so-called wild carrot, is spreading more and more in our region along the edges of the fields. It is an ancestor of our carrot, which we eat so much as a vegetable or raw food. The flower is very interesting how it opens from an almost round basket, spreading its white umbrella.

The slightly larger dandelion

It is beautiful to see how nature produces such filigree formations to spread its seeds far into the landscape. Over the last few years, the meadow goatsbeard has spread further and further along the edges of our fields. After their yellow blossom, they form a star-shaped arrangement of their seeds, analogous to the dandelion. The elongated nut fruits have a feather-like appendix. Amrum - Alone on the beach (0825)

Alone on the Beach

With this picture I say goodbye to the scenic flight over the North Frisian Wadden Sea. Two people walk in the last and warm sunlight over the narrow northern part of the Kniepsand on the island of Amrum, while we fly over them in about 600 meters height.

For me the perfect farewell picture, because it shows the return from the nature of the Wadden Sea. At the same time, it was with the last beautiful and strong sunlight, which here also created the long shadows of the two beach walkers.
