For years we have spherical thistles in our garden and every time I enjoy the beautiful geometry of the flower and always try myself with macro shots.
This time I was lucky that in one of my series of shots this wild bee landed in my focus area and I was able to capture it. This shot shows the globe thistle in its typical form, as a food source for the bees. At the main flowering time there is rarely only one bee on each of the flowers, often there are two or even three bees.
This year we had over 20 blooms.
