This pretty, but at the same time inconspicuous flowering perennial can be found in the early summer months at the edges of the hedgerows in Angeln. Everywhere the verge of the farm tracks bloomed in white, only late did other coloured flowers appear. The flowers are about 1 to 1.5 cm in diameter and have five petals, clearly divided into two at the upper edge.

I found it particularly beautiful when the flowers were illuminated from behind through the bend in the morning hours, which is shown to good effect in the two pictures below.
